Waukegan SportsPark Named and Commissioner Motley Honored
The Waukegan Park District Board of Commissioners decided at the January 12, 2010 Board Meeting to name the outdoor sports complex currently under development at 3650 North Green Bay Road the “Waukegan SportsPark”. The Waukegan SportsPark encompasses 138 acres and Phase 1 is expected to be completed in late summer. The lighted, synthetic turf championship field, baseball/softball fields and select soccer fields will be ready for limited use this fall. Click here to read more.

Mike Trigg Recognized in National Parks and Recreation Magazine, Kiosk Section (Who, What, Where & How-Around the Parks)
Mike Trigg, Superintendent of Parks for the Waukegan Park District was profiled in the December 2009, National Parks and Recreation Magazine for his work with the Illinois EPA on a series of projects stabilizing and restoring the Waukegan River banks and reducing erosion that had been destroying park land and bridges in Waukegan parks. No Friday Dinners At Bonnie Brook During Winter Months
The Waukegan Park District Board of Commissioners announced at the December 28, 2009 Special Meeting, that they have decided to not serve Friday dinners during the winter months at Bonnie Brook which includes the Fish Fry. Click here to read more.

Bowen Park Theatre and Opera Company and the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra and Concert Chorus Season subscriptions are available for performances by the Bowen Park Theatre and Opera Company and The Waukegan Symphony Orchestra and Concert Chorus.
