The Waukegan Park District invites the public to attend an update on the indoor pool planned for the Field House Sports and Fitness Center. The meeting will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 6:30pm at the Field House Sports and Fitness Center. Planned is a review of schematic drawings. Waukegan Park District's Easter celebration, will be
on Saturday, April 4, 2015, from 2-3pm at Belvidere Park for ages 2-8. Here you
can meet the Easter Bunny and friends. There will be food vendors. Be sure to
bring your camera and Easter basket to collect your goodies. Eggs are available

Easter Brunch will be served at Bonnie Brook on Sunday, April 5th from 10am-3pm. Menu
includes many traditional Easter delicacies from around the world. Cost is

The Waukegan Park District Board of Commissioners approved the 2015-2017 Strategic Plan at a recent meeting. Barbara Heller, of Heller and Heller Consulting, Inc, returned to assist with the new strategic plan which built upon the strategies and outcomes of the previous 2010 plan. The plan reflects significant public input from a variety of sources including a public meeting with more than 80 community members in attendance. The plan is organized by strategic themes, goals and initiatives spanning the next three fiscal years. Click here to read more.

The 16th Annual Dandelion Wine Fine Arts Festival will be Saturday, June 6 from 10a-4p in Bowen Park. The festival is dedicated to showcasing local and regional artists and venues, championing the arts, remaining free to the public, offering low participation fees to artists, and remembering one of Waukegan’s favorite sons, author Ray Bradbury. Park Use Permits help the District accommodate groups and ensure guests have a pleasant, safe, and enjoyable park experience. Park Use Permit green space and pavilion rental applications are available. Applications are processed in the order in which they are received, first come, first served. Applications need to be completed and submitted in person at the Belvidere Recreation Center, (BRC) 412 S. Lewis Ave Monday thru Friday, 4-8pm and Saturdays from 9am-2pm. Proof of residency and identification are required and rental fees and security deposits must accompany the completed application.
