Waukegan Symphony Orchestra and Concert Chorus

 

The Waukegan Park District Cultural Arts Division is pleased that you are interested in becoming a member of one of our professionally-led community-based music performance groups.  Currently, Stephen Blackwelder is the music director of the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra and the Waukegan Concert Chorus is directed by Randy Casey.  

 

The Music Directors the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra and the Waukegan Concert Chorus are more than happy to arrange an audition with interested vocalists and musicians.  Please call the Jack Benny Center for the Arts to be placed in contact with the appropriate director.  If leaving a message at the Jack Benny Center 847-360-4740, please include your name, address, phone/email, instrument(s)/vocal range and a good time to get back to you.  You may also forward information to cfreeman@waukeganparks.org

Bowen Park Theatre Company

 

 

Of Mice and Men

Artistic Director of the Bowen Park Theatre Company, Jason Clark is pleased to announce that auditions for Of Mice and Men will take place on Monday, October 13 from 6-8:30 pm at the Dr. Lynn Schornick Theatre in the Jack Benny Center for the Arts, 39 Jack Benny Drive, Waukegan, IL 60087.  The director for the Bowen Park Theatre Company’s bonus production of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men is Shawn Fitzgerald. 

 

Those interested in auditioning may call to check availability at 847-360-4740 and actors must bring a headshot and resume to the audition. Bowen Park Theatre Company is a professional, non-Equity company that was established in 1987.  The Illinois Arts Council, a State of Illinois agency, partially supports the Jack Benny Center for the Arts through a multi-disciplinary grant.  This play is presented through special permission and rights through Dramatists Play Service, Inc. 

 

Of Mice and Men performances will take place February 6, 7, 13, 14, 15*, 20, 21, and 22*, 2015 at the Jack Benny Center for the Arts’ Schornick Theatre, 39 Jack Benny Drive-Bowen Park, Waukegan, IL. All performances will be at 8 pm with the exception of the Sunday matinees on February 15th and 22nd at 3 pm. There are nine male roles and one female role.

Acts to Follow

Acts to Follow is a theatre group housed at the Jack Benny Center for the Arts, 39 Jack Benny Drive- Bowen Park, Waukegan, IL.  Three times a year a published one-act play and an original short are performed for audiences.  Please feel free to call 847-360-4740 if you have any questions. A message will be forwarded to Acts to Follow. 

 

The group is always looking for playwrights interested in submitting an unpublished one-act or an original short play by mail or in person to Jack Benny Center for the Arts Attn: Acts to Follow, 39 Jack Benny Drive, Waukegan, IL 60087 or via email to actstofollowsubmissions@gmail.com.  For further information in regards to submitting a play or if you are interested in auditions for the Bowen Park Theatre Company or Acts to Follow, please call the Jack Benny Center for the Arts at 847-360-4740.  Partial sponsorship of the Cultural Arts programs is through a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, an agency of the State of Illinois.
