Ganster Pool Lifeguard Staff Achieves 3rd Perfect Score! The Waukegan Park District is proud to announce that the lifeguard staff at the Howard Ganster Pool finished their pool season with their third “exceeds” audit score from Jeff Ellis and Associates Lifeguard company.

Come join us for our Family Day Luau at Ganster Pool on Saturday August 9th! The Waukegan Park District is having a special Family Day Luau at Howard Ganster Pool! Come to the pool in Belvidere Park from Noon till 4 pm for a day filled with family fun. Family Day is a great way to spend time with family and friends. Parents pay only $2.25 when accompanied by their full admission paying child! ($4.00) The party will be Hawaiian themed with decorations, music, games, prizes and more!

The Waukegan Park District hosted its 3rd annual Youth Triathlon on July 19th at Belvidere Park. Even the rain could not keep away eighteen competitors ranging from five years old to twelve from giving it their all.

Waukegan Park District Unveils Outdoor Community Sports Complex
On Monday, July 21st, 7 p.m. at the Belvidere Recreation Center, the Waukegan Park District Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing to unveil plans for development of the Outdoor Community Sport Complex. The plans illustrate the result of months of input and work of the commissioners, members of affiliated sports organizations, advisory committee members, PHN Architects, Gewalt-Hamilton Civil Engineers, JJR Landscape Architects and W.B. Olson Construction Managers.

The Waukegan Park District and City of Waukegan announced the 2008 Independence Parade Winners on June 29, 2008. Although all of the 101 entries were clearly outstanding, only a chosen few had the honor of placing in individual categories. The following is a list of the winners in this year’s parade.
