Waukegan, Illinois (September 20, 2022) – There will be one (1) park board commissioner position on the ballot for the April 4, 2023 Consolidated Election. This is for a six (6) year term and the commissioner up for re-election is Janet E. Kilkelly.

The Commissioners meet at 4:30pm the second Tuesday of each month for a Board of Commissioners meeting and the fourth Tuesday of each month for a Committee of the Whole meeting at the Waukegan Park District’s Administrative Center, located at 1324 Golf Road.

Park Commissioners serve a term of six years without compensation. Filing for candidacy requires collecting signatures of registered voters who reside within park district boundaries on the petitions for nomination, completing and filling a statement of economic interests, and filing a statement of candidacy.

Candidates seeking election as a Waukegan Park District Commissioner may begin circulating the petitions on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Candidates file their packets at the Waukegan Park District’s Administrative Center during normal business hours beginning on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 9am and ending on Friday, December 19, 2022 at 5pm.
