Waukegan Park District Opening SplashZone for the Season

Waukegan, Illinois (May 21, 2024) – The Waukegan Park District will be opening the SplashZone for the season on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Located at 416 S. Lewis Avenue in Corrine J. Rose Park, the state-of-the-art water park will be open on weekdays from 12pm to 7pm and weekends from 11am to 7pm.

Daily passes are sold at the SplashZone at the following rates:

  • Child Daily Pass (17 years and younger): $4 (Resident)/$7 (Nonresident)
  • Adult Daily Pass (18 years and older): $10 (Resident)/$12 (Nonresident)*

Season passes are available for children, adults, and families. Season passholders will be able to enjoy unlimited entry to the SplashZone. Season passes are sold at the following rates:

  • Child Season Pass (17 years and younger): $25 (Resident)/$35 (Nonresident)
  • Adult Season Pass (18 years and older): $30 (Resident)/$40 (Nonresident)*
  • Family Season Pass: $65 (Resident)/$75 (Nonresident)

*Adults accompanying a child with a daily pass or a season pass will be granted free admission to the SplashZone.

To qualify for the resident fee, individuals must show proof of residency within the boundaries of the Waukegan Park District. Proof of residency can be confirmed with a government-issued identification card (i.e., state identification or driver’s license), foreign government identification card issued in the United States (i.e., consular identification cards), or a current bill (within the last ninety days), including utility, credit card, phone, and mortgage bills. Residency for children can be verified with an identification card from Waukegan Public Schools or a parent/guardian’s proof of residency.

Season passes must be purchased at the Field House Sports, Fitness & Aquatics Center, located at 800 N. Baldwin Avenue in Hinkston Park. More information, including hours of operation, admission, and rental options, is available at waukeganparks.org/splashzone.

Established on December 26, 1916, the Waukegan Park District (WPD) has 53 properties and more than 742 acres of land, including the 18-hole Bonnie Brook and 9-hole Greenshire Golf Courses. Properties are managed to the highest environmental and conservation standards. Nationally accredited by the NRPA Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) and State accredited through the IAPD Distinguished Agency Accreditation, the WPD has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Triple Crown Award for receiving the GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award, and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The WPD was awarded the NRPA National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management in 2013, and was named a Gold Medal Finalist in 2012, 2013, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
