Waukegan Parks Foundation to Host 29th Annual Partners in Parks Golf Outing

Waukegan, Illinois (July 3, 2024) – The Waukegan Parks Foundation is hosting the 29th Annual Partners in Parks Golf Outing on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Bonnie Brook Golf Course, located at 2800 N. Lewis Avenue. Check-in and breakfast will begin at 7:30am, with the driving range open for warm-up. A shotgun start will follow at 8:30am. All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit initiatives that enhance park and recreation opportunities in Waukegan.

Early-bird registration is available until Monday, July 8, 2024 for $150 per golfer or $500 per foursome. Regular registration will be $175 per golfer and $550 per foursome. Participation in the golf outing includes a cart, goodie bag, lunch and a beverage, and a prize drawing ticket. Golfers will also receive a printed souvenir photo of their foursome.

The Waukegan Parks Foundation is a nonprofit organization that serves as the fundraising partner for the Waukegan Park District. Their mission is to strengthen the minds and bodies of community members, build community image and pride, and ensure access to parks, programs, and facilities for all.

Charlotte Callahan Wozniak, President of the Waukegan Parks Foundation Board of Directors, stated, “The 29th Annual Partners in Parks Golf Outing will be more than just a day on the golf course; it is an opportunity for community partners to impact the lives of thousands of children. Through this event, the Waukegan Parks Foundation raises funds to support initiatives and projects in local parks.”

The all-volunteer organization has been instrumental in raising funds for the construction of amenities at various parks and initiatives that have enhanced recreation programming.”

About the Waukegan Park District

Established on December 26, 1916, the Waukegan Park District (WPD) has 53 properties and more than 742 acres of land, including the 18-hole Bonnie Brook and 9-hole Greenshire Golf Courses. Properties are managed to the highest environmental and conservation standards. Nationally accredited by the NRPA Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) and State accredited through the IAPD Distinguished Agency Accreditation, the WPD has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Triple Crown Award for receiving the GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award, and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The WPD was awarded the NRPA National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management in 2013, and was named a Gold Medal Finalist in 2012, 2013, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
