Please note beginning August 18, 2017, in lieu of the publication requirement, the District may instead post a notice of its determination on the Park District’s website with a hyperlink to the prevailing wage schedule for that locality published on the Illinois Department of Labor’s (IDOL’s) official website. (See 820 ILCS 130/9, as amended by P.A.100-154).
The Prevailing Wage Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics employed on PUBLIC WORKS construction projects no less than the general prevailing rate of wages (consisting of hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) for work of a similar character in the county where the work is performed.
